Warriors: 4 HP. 2 damage forwards and backwards, 1 damage to their sides
Cavalry: 2 HP. 2 damage in all 8 directions. They get no bonus for moving.
Archers: 1 HP. 2 damage diagonally 1-2 spaces, 1 damage in cardinal directions.

    Result:
    Warriors beat anything head-on.
Archers beat anything 2 rows away, thanks to backwards attacks on Warriors.
Cavalry beat anything 1 row away if they attack first.
    Cavalry beat Archers head-to-head.
Warriors, Archers and Cavalry RPS each other in the remaining case, adjacent rows with Cavalry going second.

I dunno how comfortable I am with nerfing archer damage. I also don't see how 2 damage archer really counter warriors anymore.

Archers do not counter warriors currently. Warriors win head-on. Warriors also win in adjacent rows, since archers don't seem to attack adjacent rows at all anymore. Archers do kinda win from 2 rows away. This new set of patterns just fully embraces the existing 'units are about relative positioning' over 'units are about RPS relationships with other units'.

And, honestly, there isn't much difference between 2 damage archers and 3 damage archers except for its effects on the Grit/Valor balance.
