Like Disciplines, Scrolls can be used to use special abilities. However, unlike Disciplines, when you use a Scroll, it is destroyed. Scrolls don't need to wait for a cooldown to fill up to be cast. If you have five "Set Flame" scrolls in your inventory, for instance, you can cast all five of them in a single turn; no need to wait, as is the case with Disciplines.
Scrolls are items found randomly on each level in the game. Usually, there will be between 1 an 3 scrolls on a given level. Additionally, Scrolls can be dropped by Scroll Fairies (colored yellow).
Most frequently, you'll find scrolls that allow you to perform skills found in the Discipline trees. However, you can also find some scrolls that allow you to use abilities normally only performed by Monsters, and even some scrolls that allow you to perform completely unique spells.
Auro can only hold 5 scrolls at a time. You'll have to use one to free up a space if you're full. Later you may be able to long-press on a scroll to trash it.
This section covers some of the unique abilities that can only be found in scrolls.
- Pure Heal
Pure Heal heals you to full, but without any negative side-effects. You begin the game with one of these.
- Panic! - Select a direction. Deal 2 damage to the monster in that direction, and also random effects (often bad) happen.
- Heal - Heals you a random amount and spawns monsters (also a random amount) on the current level in random spots.
- Abomination - You turn into a horrible snow monster. When you do, all monsters will become AFRAID of you, and you can't use any skills. However, you can kill any monster instantly by stepping on top of him. Lasts for 6 turns.
